Loudoun Therapeutic Riding Fam
By jhart
The Loudoun Therapeutic Riding Foundation (LTRF) is proud to be celebrating 35 years of service in the community and will be holding a Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 24th from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Morven Park Equestrian Center on Tutt Lane in Leesburg. Activities will include therapeutic riding demonstrations, moonbounce, pumpkin painting, and face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides from 1:00 to 3:00 and good food! A suggested donation of $10 per family is requested and all proceeds will benefit the program’s annual fund. Also, we will hold our annual Road Apple Rally for a chance to win $1000!
Therapeutic riding and equine assisted activities is widely recognized as one of the most beneficial forms of recreational therapy for individuals with disabilities. Horses are great motivators for teaching skills which help improve balance, coordination, muscle strength, joint mobility, and self confidence. On or off the horse, the program helps to work towards goals that carry over into improved function in all activities of daily living.
As the need for this service grows, so does the need for funding to pay expenses which include taking care of the horses, and ponies, equipment, scholarships, and more! Please join us for an afternoon of fun for all and learn about this wonderful program! For more information, call 703-771-2689 or visit us at www.ltrf.org
