Local athlete break college home run record.
Samantha Quirin (2006 Loudoun Valley Graduate) Breaks Frostburg State University's Home Run Record.
Samantha Quirin had a breakout season this spring at the plate. With three homeruns in a doubleheader in late April, Quirin set Frostburg’s individual single-season homerun mark at 7. She finished second on the team in total bases (66), third in slugging percentage (.508), hits (37), RBIs (28) and doubles (8) and fourth in runs scored (26). She also received Frostburg’s Student Player of the Week. Samantha played in all 43 games where she contributed great defense. She ended the season with a .980 fielding percentage. She received an Honorable Mention in the 2008 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
Samantha played volleyball as well with a 3.0 GPA and is studying Physical Education
