Sponsors and donors sought for DAAR charity auction

For the 18th consecutive year, the Dulles Area Association of REALTORS will sponsor a charity auction and dinner to raise funds and help shelter-related charities in Loudoun County.
Last year, more than $32,000 was raised and donated to Good Shepherd Alliance, Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter – Children’s Services, Loudoun Cares, Loudoun Families for Children, Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas in April), Volunteers of American Emergency Shelter and Volunteers of America – Transitional Housing Shelter.
DAAR’s Community Service Committee, chaired by Sue Puleo of Prudential Carruthers Real Estate in Hamilton is seeking sponsorships and/or donations of items from area businesses for both the silent and live auctions. Please note that 100 percent of the evening’s proceeds are donated to charity.
This year’s event will take place on Friday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 11 p.m. at River Creek Country Club in Leesburg. It is open to the public. Tickets cost $65 through Oct. 30 and $75 the week of the event. The ticket price covers the cost of two cocktails, a five-course dinner, wine with dinner, and dessert. Auction items typically include everything from home goods to vacations to golf outings to jewelry and more. Attire ranges from business attire to semi-formal dress.
