The Big One, school play, new library

By Cheryl Bacak

The Big One: The Freedom High School All Night Graduation Celebration committee is holding its annual The Big One on Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will host a business and craft expo, a rummage sale, kids activities and a food court. Proceeds from this event support the class of 2010’s alcohol and drug free after graduation celebration. Please consider supporting this event and help this year’s celebration to be better than ever.

School Play: The Freedom Players present “Ring Round the Moon” on Nov. 5, 6 and 7 at Freedom High School at 7:30 p.m. This hilarious comedy is about twin brothers who are caught up in a lover’s mess. One brother is desperately avoiding the shackles of marriage, while the other is evaded by the love he desires. Come see how this love quandary unfolds. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7. Discounted group sales and advance tickets are available by calling 703-957-4305 or by e-mailing michelle.portch@loudoun.k12.va.us.

New Library: The official groundbreaking for the Gum Spring Library will take place Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception will be held at the Stone Ridge Community Center along with prize giveaways, a moon bounce, face painting and many other fun activities. Plan to attend and thank Karen Montgomery and her FROGS committee for their dedication and efforts to make the much needed and overdue library a reality.
