Reduce and recycle

A bulldozer picks at the remains of an old building at Con-Serv Industries in Sterling to make room for a new 42,000-square-foot material recovery facility Oct. 26. The new facility will cost $3.5 million to $4 million to construct and will increase CSI recycling capacity by 20 percent to 30 percent. The new building will increase CSI's capacity to collect mixed recyclables and separate them at the facility, freeing customers of the need to pack paper, plastic and glass in different containers. Construction is scheduled to be completed this summer. Times Mirror Staff Photo/Raymond Thompson
