Time to order local Thanksgiving turkeys
Local Flavor LLC in Rappahannock County has just a few fresh, free-range turkeys for November and December deliveries in Loudoun – deadline to order is noon Oct. 28.
Local Flavor’s marketing arm, the Farm Buyers Club, distributes turkeys from Ayrshire Farm in Loudoun County and from True Grit Farm in Rappahannock County. Go to the Web site for prices and to order.
Turkeys will be delivered to regular stops (see the Web site) in Reston, Herndon, Sterling and Leesburg on Nov. 23
Elaine Boland’s Fields of Athenry Farm near Middleburg will take 5 percent off the cost of any turkeys ordered by Nov. 2. Call the farm at 540-687-3936, or order online. Orders can be picked up at the farm on Snickersville Turnpike the week of Thanksgiving.
