Men’s weekend, concert and art show, fall dance

Mt. Zion UMC: Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Leesburg will celebrate its annual men’s weekend celebration Nov. 6, 7 and 8. The theme is “Men Standing Up for Christ” and will start with a concert on Friday at 7 p.m. On Saturday, a Harvest Home auction of baked goods and handmade crafts will be held at 6 p.m. The Men’s Day service will be held Sunday, Nov. 8, starting with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. ($7 donation is requested), and the celebration will close with the morning worship service at 11. The Rev. Melbourne Bailey will deliver the message.

All activities will take place at the church at 12 North St., Leesburg. All are invited to share in the weekend as you are able.

Concert, art show: Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Hamilton will sponsor a special concert and art show on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. Featured will be the Gospel Choir Heavenly, Nashville singer-songwriter-visual artist Joni Bishop, and special guest Lisa Taylor on percussion performing original songs and traditional spirituals on guitar and mountain dulcimer. Joni's art portraits of American jazz/blues and gospel legends will also be on display at the concert. The event will be at the church, 250 W. Virginia Ave, Hamilton. There will be a freewill donation.

LDAA fall dance: The Loudoun Douglass Alumni Association (LDAA) will hold a fall dance on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Hamilton Safety Center. Tickets are $20. See any LDAA board member for tickets or call Mary Randolph at 703-777-8270. Music will be provided by Larry Robinson, B-Funk.
