Movie celebrates healthy eating

Loudoun Holistic Health Partners and Leesburg's Wine Kitchen are hosting a film screening of "Fresh," a movie that celebrates farmers, thinkers and business people in the United States who are re-inventing the nation's food system.

The goal of the event is to help raise awareness of important matters in food and farming systems and how Americans eat.

The movie features urban farmer and activist Will Allen, the recipient of the 2008 MacArthur Genius Award; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur Joel Salatin, made famous by Michael Pollan’s book, “The Omnivore’s Dilemma”; and supermarket owner David Ball, challenging a Wal-Mart dominated economy.

The screening is free, although a $10 donation is encouraged to support the Weston A. Price Foundation, a source for information on diet and health. Snacks during the event will be donated by The Wine Kitchen.
