'Proud to be Jewish'
On Nov. 15, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington will host an interactive program called “Proud to be Jewish in the Public Schools” at Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation, 21740 Beaumeade Circle, Ashburn.
Family history seminar
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host a free Family History Seminar Saturday, Nov. 7, 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m., at the LDS Church Building, 21015 Claiborne Parkway, Ashburn. The purpose of the seminar is to educate the community on the process and technology available to link the present and past. The seminar will offer a variety of classes such as using DNA in search of ancestry, online census research, using probate records and researching military ancestors.

Sha'are Shalom art auction
Congregation Sha'are Shalom, Loudoun County's conservative synagogue, will host its annual art auction Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7.30 p.m. The auction includes fine art for all tastes and budgets, in all media and price ranges. Attendees can enjoy kosher refreshments, including wine, cheese and hors d'oeuvres. The public is invited. The requested donation is $15 a person. Tour LDS meetinghouse
The public is invited to tour the newly completed Leesburg Meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Saturday, Nov. 21, 2-5 p.m., at 801 Balls Bluff Rd NE.
The Leesburg meetinghouse will serve nearly 1,000 congregants who live in parts of Belmont Ridge, Lansdowne, Leesburg, Lucketts and nearby communities.
Day of Thanks
Loudoun Interfaith BRIDGES, an association of congregations comprised of Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Ba'hai and Unitarian Universalist faiths, will hold a Day of Thanks event Nov. 8, from 5-8 p.m., at Ida Lee Rec Center in Leesburg.
Keynote speaker will be Ben O'Dell, deputy director at the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. The event will feature food and music, and will honor Interfaith BRIDGES adult and youth award recipients.

Men's weekend
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Leesburg will celebrate its annual men’s weekend celebration Nov. 6, 7 and 8. The theme is “Men Standing Up for Christ” and will start with a concert on Friday night at 7. On Saturday, a Harvest Home auction of baked goods and handmade crafts will be held at 6 p.m. The Men’s Day service will be held Sunday, Nov. 8, starting with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. ($7 donation is requested), and the celebration will close with the morning worship service at 11. Rev. Melbourne Bailey will deliver the message.
All activities will take place at the church at 12 North St., Leesburg. All are invited to share in the weekend as you are able.

Craft fair

Benefit concert
Good Shepherd Alliance will hold its first benefit concert Nov. 14, 7-11 p.m., at AV-Com Visual Arts Video Production studio, 45965 Nokes Blvd., Sterling. Tickets are $25, and proceeds will go toward GSA's efforts to help the area's homeless. Bands such as Jericho and Aces & Eights will perform, and a silent auction will be featured. Church fall dinner
Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church will hold its fall dinner Saturday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. The country ham and turkey dinner will be served family-style. Freewill offerings accepted. The church is at 13266 Taylorstown Road.
