The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has released a surveillance photo of a man who robbed a convenience store in Ashburn at gunpoint Oct. 17.

Shortly before 1 a.m. a man entered the convenience store of the Sunoco gas station in the 44100 block of the Ashburn Shopping Plaza, showed a gun and demanded cash, said Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell.

The robber also threatened two customers who were inside the store, Troxell said.

The robber is described as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, gray shirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery, Troxell said.

Burglary in South Riding

Burglars stole a laptop, jewelry and cash from a home in South Riding during the day Oct. 29.

Investigators believe the burglary in the 25800 block of Commons Square could be related to a string of burglaries in Northern Virginia in which gold jewelry, electronics and cash were taken, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

This is the fourth case in Loudoun that may be linked to the string, Troxell said.

The Sheriff's Office is holding a home security class Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. at Little River Elementary School in response to the burglaries. The school is at 43464 Hyland Hills St. in South Riding.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 703-777-0475. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call 703-777-1919. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest and indictment could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Suspect arrested

A man accused in the attempted robbery and stabbing of a Sterling man was arrested Oct. 31.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Anthony Lee Perry Jr. and charged him with attempted robbery for the incident that happened Oct. 25 in the parking lot of Sugarland Run Elementary School, spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

Perry is accused of confronting a 23-year-old Sterling man as he was riding his bike near the school at about 7 p.m. Oct. 25.

Then, police believe, Perry approached the victim and demanded cash. The victim was stabbed after he refused to give the money, Troxell said.

The victim was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital and is expected to fully recover. The incident was not connected to any activities at the school, Troxell said.

Perry is held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
