Suspicious person incidents reported in Ashburn

Residents in the Ashburn Farm area should be on the lookout for prowlers because of two recent incidents, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

On July 11, deputies were called to Cherrystone Place for a report of a prowler. The teenage victim said that she left her house around 2:15 a.m. and saw a man she didn't know sitting in a chair on the porch. The man grabbed her but fled the scene after a struggle, Troxell said.

The victim said the man was about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a chubby build and was wearing all dark clothing. Deputies searched the area but didn't find anyone, Troxell said.

Then, on July 18, several friends were outside a house on Wild Meadow Court when they saw someone they didn't know dressed in dark clothing and walking around the home, Troxell said.

The area was searched, but no one was found.

Investigators are not sure if the two incidents are related, and they are researching other suspicious person calls in the county, Troxell said.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity or a suspicious person is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 703-777-1021.

Those who have information on the incidents described above are asked to call investigators at 703-777-0475.
