On the morning of Oct. 31, we received an e-mail from Wayde Byard, of the Public Information Office at Loudoun County Public Schools. He has the unfortunate responsibility of alerting parents that the schools would not be administering the H1N1 vaccinations because of the "lack of adequate vaccine."
The Department of Health and Human Services has spent more money to date than any other federal agency (www.recovery.gov/Pages/home). The president, and his cabinet-level executive, Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, have spent time fanning the flames of this potential epidemic. But when it comes time for words to translate into action, this administration failed.
Since The White House cannot deliver a vaccination for a flu that has made headlines for months now, we should end the debate about government health care. Like military intelligence or jumbo shrimp, government health care is the newest oxymoron.

Editor's note: The school system plans to resume H1N1 vaccinations when more vaccine is available.
