Rain Barrels for Purcellville and a Last Chance for Enhanced Farm Program Cost Share in Catoctin

If you've missed out on Loudoun Soil and Water Conservation District's Rain Barrel Workshops in the past, another opportunity is on its way this month.  Saturday October 17th at 9:00 AM in Purcellville at the Town Hall LSWCD will conduct another in their popular series of workshops.  The cost per barrel is $50.00.  To sign up, contact the District at 703-777-2075.  The workshop is open to EVERYONE but Purcellville town residents should save their receipts from the workshop and present them to the Town of Purcellville in order to recieve a $25.00 rebate.

In other news from LSWCD, as announced in this space before, the Catoctin TMDL Program is entering its final months and will draw to a close at the end of the year.  Anyone interested in obtaining the enhanced 85 percent cost share rate on stream fencing and water systems for their farm should contact the District immediately in order to take advantage of the program.  Projects must be completed by the end of the year in order to obtain the higher rate of cost share available in the Catoctin Watershed currently.  After the conclusion of the program, cost share assistance will still be available, but only at the traditional 75 percent rate.  The 10 foot buffer program offerring 50 percent cost share on fencing in the Catoctin Watershed will also no longer be available.  For more information call the District at 703-777-2075!
