Caputo for Delegate Volunteer Assaulted

Woman punched in the face by man removing Caputo for Delegate yard signs.

Saturday, Oct. 3, at about 9 p.m., a volunteer for Del. C. Chuck Caputo campaign, was physically assaulted by a man after she asked why he and his companions were removing Caputo signs near the intersection of West Ox Road and Penderbrook Drive in Chantilly.

The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, was returning from an event when she noticed several men removing Caputo for Delegate yard-signs from a road median on West Ox Road. The woman promptly asked them what they were doing when one of the men crossed the street towards her car, struck her in the face, and then fled on foot.

She has filed a police report with the Fairfax County Police Department.

"This was a tragic assault in our community," said Chuck Caputo. "Campaigns are supposed to be about ideas and a free dialogue between candidates and voters. I have instructed my campaign to work with the Fairfax County Police Department to identify these perpetrators and hand them over to the proper authorities. I hope that Jim LeMunyon and his staff will do the same."

Please contact Max Glass at the Caputo for Delegate campaign for more details.
