It is really hard to imagine living in Loudoun, where incomes are the highest in the nation that large numbers of people are being turned away from the local homeless shelter due to a lack of beds, staffing and funding. In fact, while it appears our community is capable to manage the local population in need, many adults and their families are turned away from shelters because of insufficient resources. GSA was first founded in a pastor's home in 1983 and has since served over 4,000 men, women and children.
On November 14th from 7-11 PM, all are welcomed and encouraged to join GSA for their 1st Annual “Heart of Gold" Benefit right here in Sterling to raise funds to assist our area’s local homeless population. The Benefit will be held at the State-of-the-Art AVCOM - Visual Arts Video Production Studios in Sterling, Virginia. The concert will include live Jazz, Christian Acoustic, and Rock & Roll musical entertainment, raffles, food served by The Dock of Lansdowne www.thedockoflansdowne.com and a silent auction.
Baked Goods are provided by Sweetz Bakery of Leesburg. Both The Dock and Sweetz will donate 10% of the proceeds to GSA.
