348 new teachers for LCPS
Loudoun County Public Schools has 348 new teachers this year. At the New Employee Orientation Aug. 21 at Heritage High School in Leesburg, Superintendent of Schools Edgar Hatrick welcomed them all.
"Although it was some 43 years ago since I sat where you are now, as a new teacher in Loudoun County, I, like many of you who are veteran educators, have not lost that sense of new beginning that we feel at the start of each new academic term," he said. "Since my career path has allowed me to stay in one school system, I have had opportunities to work in many areas of our curriculum, and in each case I have gained respect for what you do each day."
