All Ages Read Together kicks off in September
All Ages Read Together, a private non-profit organization, is looking for preschool age children and senior participants for its free fall reading program, which begins Sept. 14.
Twice weekly sessions will be held at the Herndon Senior Center, the Carver Center in Purcellville, and at the Senior Center at Cascades and are designed to get children “school ready” before they enter kindergarten.
The program is dedicated to providing low- to moderate-income children with a positive one-on-one reading experience that benefits both age groups.
AART also donates the books read during the program to the children who participate, making a lasting impact in their lives by helping to start a home “library” that they may not otherwise be able to afford.
The program will take place at the Herndon Senior Center, 873 Grace Street in Herndon on Wednesdays and Fridays after Sept. 14 from 12:45 to 2 p.m.
At the Carver Center in Purcellville, 200 Willie Palmer Way, the sessions will take place Mondays and Wednesdays starting Sept. 14 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
At the Senior Center at Cascades, 21060 Whitfield Place in Sterling, sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays after Sept. 14 from 12:45 to 2 p.m.
